Why won't MSN Live Messenger download ?

I've had it for ages, never had a problem with it, but I recently had to reformat my computer and since doing so it won't let me download msn. It gives no reason, just says ''unable to install''. I have tried disabling my firewall while i download it, but that didn't make any difference. Is there anything else I could try? (I have XP, and everything I have is up to date)

Maybe your trying to download a vista version?
Why not try downloading it from a different site, like download.com?

this is a common problem. even i had experienced it. and then i didnt download it. i hardly use it for anything...i prefer YIM for my personal use
