How do I increase traffic to my blog?

I've tried pinging my new blog from some of the advertised sites and told my friends and family. I'm new to blogging and really need to get the revenue from AdSense to help with bills (see topic of my blog). I'm not worried who read it. I'm just looking for advise since I'm a newbie at this. I've used Google webmaster tools to add my site to their search engine but I know just enough to know my blog is one in a billion and it won't be found unless I get out there and tell people about it. Where are the people I want to tell?

hmm, i'm not an actual blogger, i'm a 'vlogger'. which means i post blogs in the forms of videos, on youtube. what lots of us vloggers do to increase our popularity is to post video responses to videos that those higher-up have made. this means that maybe if some poor soul is really bored, they will go watch the responses, as well as the person who made the original video. not sure if they do these sort of things in the normal blogging world, but if they do good luck.

also, if the person who posted the original likes your work, they may mention you in a later blog or vlog. they might say something like 'i was looking at responses yesterday, and averagejoe333 had a great point there. go check him out.'

keep posting good content on a regular basis (daily is best)

I would say get some quality links to your blog to get indexed - that is 1st - 2nd do some simple seo on your blog - 3 rd talk to over bloggers
