Default HELP! Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '&'

HELP!!!!! My business website is down suddenly!! I didn't do a thing, just went to the address and it was down. How could this happen without me touching a thing? I didn't design my site and have no knowledge...I had a web person do it for me.
It's saying

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '&' in /home/public_html/classes/xtpl.php on line 532

What is this???

Thanks!!!
Oh, and I tried to email my web designer but can't reach her...well, in the last 2 minutes anyway. I guess that's not too fair... AAAAHHH!! help!
THANK YOU!! The FIRST error message was different and I figured out how to get into my file manager and take out the &nbsb that for some reason I knew was "bad" for whatever reason, then when I took that out and saved the file a DIFFERENT error came up (the one in this question) instead of my site (see below). I went into my file manager and found the line (can't believe I found it!!) and here it is...

$copy = $this->text($bname);

any ideas??
Thanks!!!
Sharon
Oh gosh..sorry, my last addition to this was confusing...The FIRST error I got was the one in the initial question I asked, THEN I went and took out the &nbsp thingy and now it's saying

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_VARIABLE in /home/public_html/classes/xtpl.php on line 534

The exact code on line 534 (from file manager) is

$copy = $this->text($bname);

help! Thanks,
Sharon

Default HELP! Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '&'

A syntax error generally means your developer made a typo and stuck an & in where one shouldn't be.

Without seeing the code on line 532, though, I don't know what the problem is.

The ampersand is a special character in HTML.

make sure the code just hasn't got the & instead of &
