Default I use Google Analytics as well as a traditional webcounter. They both show different stats. Who's right?

Easycounter.com shows unique visitors per day as well as page hits. Google Analytics shows the same. Yet they often differ, sometimes by a lot - today there's a difference of about 40! Why is there this difference, and which one reflects my site traffic most accurately?

NB: It is a blog, not a website as such. Does this make a difference?

Google counts real visitors who has JavaScript enabled in their browsers.
Your counter shows all hits including robots (not real people) which came from other search engines (like Google bot, Yahoo cralwer etc).

None of them are precise, but Google Analytics has the closest REAL value.

Yep, That is about as good an explanation as you will ever find.
