Default What do I need to know to make a Recruitment website?

I'm fairly new to web design (about 1.5 years experience) and I've been asked to make a recruitment website. The closest thing I've done so far is making a wordpress blog. I realise this isn't close enough!

Can somebody please tell me what things I need to think about in order to set up a recruitment website? ie what kind of software and database and also maybe a short overview of the process it would take to put one together?

I have very basic php skills but am very stubborn and am determined to make this website, so comments about me not bothering or leaving it to a programmer won't be much help i'm afraid!

Thanks in advance

I strongly appreciate your concern and interest regarding this project. It really depends whether you are working on a deadline or not. If you aren't then it won't be too difficult for you provided you learn different stuff along the way.
First of all jot down all the features and modules of a typical recruitment site has.
I can refer you to the starter projects on the official site of asp dot net (www.asp.net). Or if you are too determined to develop it in php then you can search for the sourcecode on www.sourceforge.net.

You can buy some job board script from hotscripts.com or else you can contact a PHP expert at website like http://advancescript.com/ .
